I would really like to see what others are doing to their Pods and Center Consoles, Stock to Aftermarket. Let's see your hard work! SmileWavy

Niiiiiiiiiice!! What do you got next to your Analog Clock on both sides?

Dean_Fuller 03-14-2009 06:50 PM

Not mine but done very well. I like the way everything is pulled out and flush with the console edge.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1237081841.jpg

Dean_Fuller 03-14-2009 06:53 PM

Here is mine with Paul's boot and shifter.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1237082011.jpg

Boot and shifter

Holy Crap, Paul does great work. That is the best boot and shifter I ever laid eyes on.

ice-hot 03-15-2009 06:18 AM

MPDano, Those are stock buttons in a"79" US MY. Driverside is the "Emergancy Flasher" switch and other is a "Fasten Seatbelt" buzzer. What is in that location on your Euro?
Dean-Fuller, That shifter and boot really look good!! Did you make it? I've never seen one like it stock. Really Nice!!
John

MPDano 03-15-2009 07:13 AM

ice-hot, my Euro was in prety sad shape when I got it. I am still trying to piece it together. Just the clock is there, so I have nothing in those 2 holes. Looking for ideas. That shifter/boot in Deans pic is from Paul Champagnes Leather works. Stunning stuff.

Dean_Fuller 03-15-2009 10:16 AM

Yep..as Leo says the boot is made by Paul Champagne and the shifter was recovered by him to match.

It would a big job but I always thought about raising the console higher so that cup holders could be inside the center glove box. Increase the angle its meets the dash so that it over shoots and one could add a POP UP NAV above the center air vent. Kinda like Aston Martin does it.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1237137394.jpg

My current version awaiting install..re-arranged to hold a blaupunkt nav. monitor.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1237243006.jpg

ice-hot 03-16-2009 05:47 PM

WOW, looks like OEM. Very nice! No smoking sign is definately ON!

MPDano 03-16-2009 06:26 PM

I agree. What is inside that gray material you are using?

s928s 03-17-2009 03:40 AM

The bezel is made of a shaped 1/8in aluminum frame with a 1/4in foam coar and covered in leather. all to tie in with my 2 tone interior project. I will post some more pics in another thread, Not to "hijack" this one. ..Thanks for the interest guys !!

Those seats look really nice, Russ. Can't wait to see them in the car.

rhjames 03-19-2009 08:56 PM

thanks!

disclaimer----

although this was pod and console only, I included the seats/console pics because they include the rear console.

pod, dash board, sunroof cover, cassette/arm rest box, rear seat exterior panels (the small ones that the belt goes thru), and all sun visors are being recovered. door panels had previously been done, but had to go back for modifications. rear quarters are done, but still at the shop.

it's moving along nicely.....

usfromflorida-- Early model "MOMO" Millenium. I took a Porsche crest from a key fob and attached it in the center for a little more stock look. Thanks for noticing!

Russ,

That upholstery combo job is looking badass. What color carpet are going with?

MarkRobinson 03-23-2009 08:46 AM

I have an '86 center console for sale: not too bad, one central top crack, and evidence of repaired cell-phone holder: best offer, though I plan to place on ebay as well.

Paul Champagne will be in-town later this week, so free shipping to him if you buy it from me :)
