Booster valve
How can you test the booster valve? And do they last a long time?

To check the vacuum system I pull off the connection to the vacuum source, throttle etc. and hook up my MityVac, pull a vacuum and watch the gauge for leaks.
No idea on specifically which valve you are talking about though. |

this valve is connected right on the throttle body by two holes one is like 5/8 and the other 3/4 and the vacuum hose 1/4 goes to the tee and to the fuel pressure regulators

That the vacuum limiter, kinda pricey isn't it?
It keeps the car from misfiring when you brake with the engine. Without it the vacuum gets so high the mixture won't fire. Hook your MityVac to just the line going to it and pulling a vacuum should increase your idle speed. If it won't hold a vacuum, its leaking and needs replacement. |

I started taking the intake, injectors, and rails all out I am cleaning in there and replacing all the vacuum, fuel and coolant holes and noticed that one plugged off so didn't want to take a chance after putting it all back.

There was a good length thread with no real consensus on whether or not you "have to" have one of these working if you don't have cats. Potential for some monster backfires when braking with the engine without it, so no choice really with cats. I snooped my junk until I found a good used one.
