10 years of Porsche 928 ownership-

As of midnight, I have now owned my 928 for 10 years!

This car has a stroried past. Before I bought it , the PO (aka Butteater 1) regarded his mechanic as "god" because he had been to Germany. I have been to Germany; I don't think my mechanical skills increased one bit!

My 928 was bought by a jeweler from Ocala in1985. He wanted something that would out-run his neighbors' '84 corvette.

An '84 S2 [0-60 in about 5.5 seconds] will just DESTROY an '84 corvette! I don't know why he even wanted to race his associate in his ploding plastic car! I'm surprised that Saturn still builds cars. gm cars are all cheap plastic~

Oh yeah, the rest of the past:

Well, that Jeweler was a gay man who apparently could not deal with the situation. He owned his own shop, but in 1993 when he was "outed" he did something stupid: He came home, put the 928 in the garage...and then put a tape in the player. He went to sleep forever.

His mechanic bought the car from probate....after it had sat for more than a year in a yard. He and she drove it around for a year, then she got pregnant.

10 years Normy, I hope you bought your 928 something nice....

Do you know much about the actual importing?

Was it purchased in Germany, then imported, or imported and then sold to the first US owner?

Well, I don't know how this happened. Ignore it, read my other thread.

Really, I don't know how another thread happened. I was working on my thread and the Hotel in Albany, NY where I am this eve....had a power outage for 10 seconds.

Ignore this one, post your thoughts to my other 10 year thread.
