82 us fuel injector repairable

fuel injector rebuild kits for 82 us yes no
any way conditioning ones have and test to know if id have too.

car is starting up cold fine when reaches op temp and when ready to shutoff wont restart being warm have spark front left spark plug pulled for spark test ok have spark, plug wet pulled next one up wet

whats best way to tackle problemo

is problem isolated to only the injector itself and will finish looking at all 8
can one be tested, is there rebuild kit (82us) can just get seal for any failing ones.

will check all rubber lines replace w/hydraulic hose and other inj lines

fuelpump does turn on when car is trying to start warm ,just no start, cranks hard and fast but not til cools back down will it start again seems fuel is feeding like a flooding happening thus the wet plug/s and no restart til plug dries , cools to start up again.

not electrical so far the cold start thermotime is good

replaced all vac lines will check again

o2 sensor? where is it on 82

Rebuild kit usually is a new pintel, filter, and O rings, rebuilding usually includes cleaning and testing the injector. To test rebuilders use a device to cycle the electrical stuff while pumping through some gas and looking at the spray pattern and measuring the volume over a specific time.

I would just send them out, cost is less than $20/injector. Take a look at a few places, not saying this is good, just one I remember, www.witchhunter.com

Failure mode is injector sticking, or flowing an incorrect amount. Easy first test, use a rubber hose and listen to each injector with the motor running at an idle, the clicking sound should be about the same for all of them.

Run the motor til hot, shut off, wait maybe 5 min, and with a rag handy crack one of the injector side fuel fittings to see if its still pressurized. Pressure should be close to normal a good 30 min I think after shut down.

If it sprays out, hook up a fuel pressure gauge and record the fuel pressures, hot, cold, etc.

Doesn't sound like a fuel pump issue to me, it doesn't shut off once hot, just doesn't restart?
