What is under the cover by pass seat?

I have an 82 928 and next to the passenger seat I have a cover with 2 knobs. Under this it looks like there used to be 2 devices. I have one in place that says VDO and I assume is the cruise module. Behind that (toward the rear) it looks like there was something else. I just have cut wires there. LAME! what used to go here and what can I expect to pay for one?

Thats where the factory amp goes for the speakers, no great loss, rarely is the original a desirable choice.

Look up the part number on the other box if you want to know for sure what it is.

Cool, I would have ditched it too then. I'm sure the other is the cruise modulator since it's a VDO part. Where can I look up factory Porsche part numbers?

I think the early cars had a 02 censor counter over there also.

Google, type in the part number, like "928 618 117 00" and bingo Alarm control unit etc. Don't skip the quotes.

As Dangler points-out, if its a lot of wires, it might have been one of these (this is an 84)
