anybody know of any 928 clubs or meets that go on around north central Florida? Normy, i bet you know a something or two about Florida meets. just like to get in the buzzzzzzz if you know what i mean...

Well, there is a get together in Daytona in November, and there is the Sebring thing in the spring. Both are past.
Fedex [my employer] was supposed to release my schedule for June 11 minutes ago, but it isn't out yet, so I can't say if I'm going to be able to go to Sharks in the Mountains 2009. My parents live 20 miles from www.928gt.com, and this is a good excuse to drive the 928 up to Asheville, where they live. -Florida isn't like California, or Texas, or Michigan...which are the "big three" concentrations of 928 enthusiasts. It's kind of tough to get Porsche-files together in this state. Any sort of Porsche meeting will have to be a PORSCHE meeting, with all models represented. I attended one of these in Cocoa Beach a few years ago, and the vast majority of the cars were 944's. My exhaust note was the cause of several erections, and I was surprised that my car was able to keep up with several highly-modified 951's when we went as a group down a back country road west of town. The 951 doesn't last long, but it is VERY easy to make it incredibly fast! A properly sorted 951 will kill a late model corvette Z06, despite the later cars 500 hp 7.0 liter engine~ Yeah, dude, I'd like to meet you some time. Compare notes over beers and opened hoods.
