Rear Seal Writeup?
Can I replace the rear seal on my 82 us without dropping the crank? Is there a writeup anywhere? I did some searching on the forum but mostly found cam seal stuff.

On manual cars, you can just drop the clutch (easy job) and then unbolt the flywheel. Getting the rear seal started flat is easy - just use a couple of bolts on the flywheel to push the lip into the recess using the flywheel rear surface. Then remove flywheel again and tap into place with something round (I used a plastic plumbing fitting that fits nicely, and a rubber mallet on that). On auto cars, I believe it involves dropping the transmission, or pulling the engine, to get at the flywheel?
