Rear wiper doesnt work

Hi All

Well, after the rear hatch adventure is behind me- I have a new problem that need to be solved.
The rear wiper doesnt work :(
When I activate it, I hear a click coming out of the relay but no current is delivered to the rear wiper
There are 2 wires going to the rear wiper:
1 has always 12V the other delivers 12V when activating the rear wiper and this is where the problem is since it doesnt deliver any current.

If the relay makes a clicking sound when I activate the rear wiper and the wiper doesnt work, where can be the problem?

The rear wiper motor was tested using external current and works fine...

any suggestions?

just because the relay clicks...doesnt mean its good..there are 2 parts to a relay...the actuator side (clicking noise)...and current flow (power to motor)...sounds like the power side is bad
i think Allanaz can explain it better than i can..Allanaz?...your 2cents worth.. SmileWavy

Indeed just because a relay clicks it doesn't mean its good - or it may be working but have no supply to the contacts (e.g. fuse blown) Check your fuses - there are 2 that affect the rear wiper one for the relay ignition supply (fuse 9 for you) and one for the parking circuit - the permanent supply (fuse 15 for you).

is the ground wire connected to the motor?

Yoni_d 07-12-2009 04:40 AM

Yes. it is connected...

Is the ground wire from the motor connected to ground?

Yoni_d 07-13-2009 04:13 AM

Yes it is.
If I disconnect the 2 pin connector to the motor and activate it using external power, it works.
It means that there is nothing wrong with the ground.
Maybe one of the fuses is not good...I havent checked them yet since at first I thought that if I hear a "clicking" sound from the relay - it means that the fuses are ok...
