Use the old hub or get new one...?

So I replaced my old rear rotors with vented rotors weekend before last on my 79' and they really look cool. The problem was in taking off the drivers side rotor the ebrake assembly retaining springs decided to become bent.. I replaced them as good as possible and they felt sturdy But...

was driving to dinner and suddenly had a "CLUNK crunch" and then a scree crunch. I knew the ebrake assembly self imploded. So I spent the rest of last weekend disassembling things and finally got it off today. Problem is all of the ebrake hardware is toast and the hub has some significant scratching on it..

toasted hardware:http://www.curtgrob.com/928/hub1.jpg
and the scratching..:http://www.curtgrob.com/928/hub2.jpghttp://www.curtgrob.com/928/hub3.jpg

Question is to use this one or get a new rear hub?

Also.. anyone know if the bearing will be a pain in the..@$$ to get off and install.. I know so many things are "pressed in" on the rear hub...

Many thanks in advance!

the housing itself is fine and will not be affected by that bit of scratching.

However having removed the center hub (piece with the studs), you are now FORCED to replace the bearings. As pulling that center hub out destroys the bearings which are in there.

You will need to either fully remove and use a press or get special tools to be able to replace the bearings as well.
