What should I use to clean the lines? Also who makes an inexpensive kit to do the injector lines? Mine are in ok shape so I was going to wait till I pull the motor again to do the rear seal and reaplace all the injectors.

Roger has a kit, but its fuel injection grade hose and clamps. The old stuff comes off and the fittings, collar things, are not reused. ************

You can clean the lines with carb/FI cleaner and blow them out with compressed air.
The hose may look good but it is 27 years old. Also the stuff made today is prob better. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1248405983.jpg This is a close up of what it looked like after pulling it off the fuel rail (just broke off) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1248406119.jpg |
I would send out the injectors to Witchunter, they will be cleaned and flow tested about 120.00
|
Wow... All of them? That's a ton cheaper then buying new injectors.

It was the fuel pump guys. Thanks for all the info. I ordered the fuel line kit from roger and I'll be sending the injectors off to get cleaned when I install that.

Ok, Had the car towed home again yesterday. Starting to get frustrated. Pretty handy with an electrical diagram and a test meter but need some direction. Seems again like the injectors are pulsing and the plugs are firing but the car just stumbles. Won't start. Maybe injector timing is off? Any help would be really appriciated.

I have been watching this thread because I am having the same problem with my 84 928s. I was about to order a fuel pump until reading your last post. I drove my car to norfolk and back (about 1300 miles round trip) with no problems, the next morning same as yours stumbles but will not start. I am going to get a fuel pressure tester and start there I guess, any idea if the standard tester works on theese cars?

All the injectors fire once or twice per revolution at the same time.
I always think Green wire without other suspects. |
Ok, Didn't know that. I hear them clicking.... What does that mean? No fuel pressure? Just installed a pump. Worked for 20 miles? Still running. All things are the same as before. Car stutters but won't start.
i guess waht I'm asking (not telling please don't get me wrong) is that the green wire... (like most 80's german cars 70's too) feeds the coil ultimatly. If the green wire was bad would I still get a spark on every revolution? i just hate to spend another hundred bucks and still have to tow it home! |
Traced to Time Temp Sensor.
Thanks to all who helped me along. :) |
