Rebuilt Short block 4.5L FS
I rebuilt a 4.5L bottom end.
I coated the pistons, replaced the rings, rod bearings, cleaned out the threads for the headbolts, etc. I disassembled and cleaned the heads, but did not rebuild them. I still have the 82 cams for this engine as well. 800 dollars for everything, just to get my money back on the piston coatings, rings, and bearings. I am in SoCal. Would really like a local buyer. |
did you have the cylinders honed as well?
(not that I'm interested--I have two that I can't even give away--but a prospective buyer might want to know) --Russ (as Mike would say....4.5L short blocks are basically a waste of money, given their low demand and large availability--compared to building a 5.0L hybrid) |

Mike has a point. But they are of great value to some - such as those following racing rules and whom wish to not be "bumped" to a higher class. I may use this engine just for that if I do not sell it. Otherwise, they are very good test beds so that you do not break up the larger, more expensive engines. Such as 30psi and ethanol. |
