Igintion timing
I was thinking of advancing my ignition timing on my '80 928, from the factory setting of 23deg BTDC @ 3000 rpm, to around 26deg. Avancing the timing on my detriot iron always netted a few ponies, however, I was'nt sure if it would adversely affect my injection timing etc. Any sage advice, or recomendations?

If you have a US 80, its made to run on cheap gas, so you should be able to switch to premium and bump the timing up a bit. What you want to avoid is knock and/or ping. Before making any changes its a good idea to make sure the vacuum advance etc is all working properly.

What Danglerb said plus watch your temps since advancing the timing can cause an increase.

If you run good gas you can safely advance a couple degrees. It will make the car harder to start though.

Thanks for the tips. I advanced the timing to 28deg this weekend, and the power boost is great (Feells like 10-15 hp). 89 octane seems to be working OK.
