Is it worth the cash?
Local 1983 928s 140,000 miles. Mechanically it appears to be solid, no smoke drives well. Big electical problems... HVAC does not work, windows and sunroof work about 1/2 the time.
Is this worth $3,000? thanks to all |

i bought a 1980 with 66k miles and everything works including new tires and borla exhaust for $2000 i dont think a 928 with 140k miles is worth it considering you will never get your money out of it, just my thoughts.

thanks
thanks to all for the advice...
I know air cooled, but this was my first glance at a water breather. I went to see the car today and it is past the point of what I'm looking for. Runs well and no rattles, but has electrical gremlins and a poor aftermarket paint job. The guy said he would negociate if anyone else is interested email me and I'll forward the info. My guess is he would take $2500 or under. Car is in Charleston, WV. thanks again |

Run Forest, run.
Regardless of what you pay for a car in that shape, it will eat you alive and you will lose every penny you put into it. |

I'm waiting for the days when sellers are going to pay us to take these OB's off their hands......
the way things are going, it won't be long coming. it's a sad comment for any 928. --Russ

depends on whether you want a 928 bad enough and that is all you can afford now. sounds like a bad move if you are tight on finances.
I would rather see them all dismantled and kept for parts. Beaters kill the image and do other negative things. It's like old baseball cards, enough have to be thrown out before they are appreciated. |

One of the Norcal guys bought a 5 spd for $250, and I almost bought the $135 parts car recently on ebay.
Last I heard 928Intl wasn't buying any older cars, plenty get dropped off free or cost of a tow. |

How sad for our beloved sharks. When I bought my '79 in 1987, they were still "exotic". Now adays, an old '81 305 corvette fetches better money. How depressing
