another wp question
 

Okay, so I took the Drimmel tool to the studs on the block and filed them down ever-so-slightly. I put Vaseline on them and them tapped the new wp into place with a rubber mallet. It was a very tight fit, but I got it on.

Then I got to looking and noticed something different different from the old wp and the new wp. The old one has a roller on it and the new one has a brass arm, but no roller. The roller from the old does not fit on the new. I looked at some of my pics of the front of the engine before I took the old wp off and I can't tell if the old roller even did anything. Any thoughts on this roller debacle?

P.S. I mean mentally handicapped. My wife is a special ed teacher and would kick by butt if she knew I used the word retard!:eek:

thats where nothing will go if you follow the directions on the Porkensioner.
The roller pictured is deleted from the belt run when the Ptensioner is used

That's a '87-up water pump, although that fact doesn't matter with the PKsn'r.

You can remove the bracket and the post. Coat the 10mm set screw in the hardware kit with red Loctite, and screw it in flush with the water pump face.

Ahh, "'87 and up." Maybe that's why I had such a hard time getting it on.
Merlin- Thanks for all of your help; I'm a newbie, but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and learn. Be forewarned, though; I'm going to have more questions, especially when it comes to the cam seals and resetting the timing once everything is on. :)
