Door panel Brackets

Today I installed the metal door brackets on my 928. They work extremely well, even if your existing arm rest has cracked plastic. I had replaced a window motor a while back and finally got the panel reassembled.
If you have not installed these metal brackets, I strongly recommend you do so. Mike in Atlanta suggested that I drill a couple of additional holes to bolt the bracket to my arm rest (6/32s) it worked great. But heres the thing, that plastic is really brittle, with age your arm rest panel WILL fail, the sooner you get the brackets in the less stress cracking you will have on the arm rest plastic. Think about it. The brackets do take a little adjusting, but work great.

dont forget to renew the vapor barriers in the doors.
If you go to the dollar store look for the clear shower curtain for a 1.00 they work well , you can use a good clear tape,( 3M packing tape work well), or a brush o0n contact cement also works well, make drip sheets and fit them first for the smaller cutouts

I just reused the existing, used some silicone caulking to "re-glue" it to the door panel. Good idea though, I will be doing my 89 tomorrow.
