outer window seals

I think thats a dealer item, no oem source, so prices will be about the same from most sources. Pick one that ships easily to you.

mitsy 12-12-2009 09:59 AM

what kind of price are we talking

Mrmerlin 12-12-2009 11:41 AM

roger@************ has them about 154.00 a side
This is for the seal along bottom of the outside window opening

mitsy 12-12-2009 11:45 AM

thanks for the input lads

Is there no other source for these? Maybe without a Porsche Part number? $300 is outrageous for two squeegee.

Mrmerlin 12-12-2009 02:21 PM

Exactly. I know I gotta pay, but sometimes us Poor Porsche Owners find nice equivalents that actually work. Not all of us have deep pockets.

My view also. My folks were middle class, but amassed quite a sum of money living those princibles. (not that I got it)

Mrmerlin 12-12-2009 05:17 PM

the window seal is made for the aluminum trim.
there is not anything that i have seen with the triple sealing edge that will fit.
A work of art actually

mitsy 12-13-2009 03:48 AM

worth a try thanks again folks

MPDano 12-13-2009 05:30 AM

You would think that for the price, the trim piece would be included. Oh well, yeah we tried mitsy.

since when did the artists get rich "starving artist" gotta catch one of them for they make it big apparantly a artist not so starving working for
Porsche makin big bucks on outer window seals SOB lol

928intl.com any? probably ripping them out left and right and trashing em all not to resellable id imagine -- better a little dry little tears keep treating so doesnt degrade anymore-- than none at all try parting out porsche people on jaxed.com site every country, state, city is there someone might come up with something. 20-40bucks

Almost all the seals on my parts car reused except outer quarters, they were all good and even the car to put some of them on seals are pretty good. Maybe here in the east coast they sustain a bit moreso than constant sun climate states and if your never treating them uhh neglect not asking to much a cloth and a capful and a quick swipe keeps all pliable ,protected, clean. same with seats and dash .... or replace it all for 10grand start neglecting all over again hmm 5-15bucks juice (many applications) 10grand new int/ext

Its about $3200 for all new rubber, not including tires or rubber in the suspension. Some parts like the main door seals are available from the OEM, but almost everything on our cars is unique, kinda why a few of us bought them.

I started out with the view that no used rubber that comes off my car goes back on. ;) Didn't last too long.

Now my view is totally practical, new rubber if its a PITA to replace, good used if its not. Window trim is a PITA.

Mrmerlin 12-13-2009 11:22 AM

every outer seal I have removed has been destroyed by removal.
As it usually comes off in chunks. there are 3 sealing edges that fit the aluminum trim and they hold the seal very tightly,
so once its work hardened,
its on for the duration until someone comes along and tears the old seal off

mitsy 12-13-2009 03:10 PM

i thought i had nothing else to do but remove them from my parts car but they are well shot
