Need tune up help, 2 questions

re: (1990 S4 Mtr)
#1.
I goofed, In the process of changing the rotors, caps, wires, coils & plugs, I
forgot to mark/index the position of the old rotors before I took them off. The rotors aren't indexed with a cut out or notch or tab,
they will attach at any one of three positions 360° How can I verify
I have them positioned properly without getting to involved, is there a quick way out ?

&

#2.
I'm not clear on determining if a plug wire resister needs changing.
The book says you should get a 3K ohm reading on the resister + - 10%
John Pirtle' says if it tests with a higher Resistance it should definately
be replaced. I measured my old resisters and got the following >

#5 = 2.61 ^ #1 = 2.66

#6 = 2.74 ^ #2 = 2.78

#7 = 2.79 ^ #3 = 3.13

#8 = 3.13 ^ #4 = 2.70

So which ones are bad, Do I have 6 good ones and two bad or
do I have 2 good ones and 6 bad ?

Thanks..

withe the engine at TDC both of the rotors will point to the driverside fender or 3 O clock while looking at the engine.
the rotors will only go on one way, IE if they are not lined up then the most you can do is 2 screws installed. also if you look at the cam pulleys there are 2 raised lugs on the faces the rotor nose faces between these lugs. I would suggest to Call Roger Tyson, and just order a fresh set of Beru wires, they are plug and play plus you get new coil wires the car will run much better with new wires and plugs.

As I recall when I checked my ends, all my "bad" ones were worse. I used the Econo set from 928Intl where the ends are reused, but I collect "ok" used parts so I had a big stash of ends to sort through.

using the used ends is really a crap shoot as ones that might have been working OK can sometimes fail and then your back under the hood huntin for elex leaks best to buy the good stuff then your good for another 20 years
