dside -Lower control arm-82us-replace help

while taken pan down for doing alt belts-- i found that the lower control arm on driverside metal is split, at the front innerside bolt (pic one). Can the parts split apart at the rubber?(pic 2) if i can take the rubber out to split the part, can i get new rubber insert parts? (pic 3) In the vice is a spare will the piece on top come off.

you need to replace the lower control arm, the bushings are bonded to the arm pivots.
If you can take the bushings off then its broken

make sure to check the lower ball joint with a magnet (you want the magnet to stick) as the originals are aluminum and are known to fail

thanks all done really to bad that lot of unneccessary nuts and bolts when you can see that seam right there that seems you could just give a tap and would release, and get new rubber (no chance, one molded on one way notched on piece, BOO ) good enough got her done.

did check many moons ago my ball joints are steel, THANKS

** Note that some times when starting a sentence i hit capital and its capital lock, so screww it and type away. Some would say that means ur yelling when all caps, but i just wanna say, not always. And sometimes a capital is to stress the important words anyway, I dont think anyones yelling negatively anyway ITS ALL GOOD!!!!!!!!!

if you have moved the lower control arm mounting bolts tie rods, or ball joints then the front end should be aligned after driving for 50 miles, the sway bar link wont change the front end alignment if thats all that was changed
