1984 928 Just dies ...can anyone offer suggestions

I have a 1984 Porsche 928 that is a bit puzzling at the moment.

The car starts and idles fine...will drive just fine...but every now and then it just dies and will not start unless the battery cable is disconnected and then reconnected.

I have checked all my grounds, fuel pressure, vaccum leaks, replaced O2 sensor, check fuel regulators.

It almost seems like it is an inerta switch or something that controls the fuel pump.

When she dies it seems like there is no fuel...can try to start it but nothing. I disconnect the battery and reinstall it and she fires right up.

Can anyone offer some suggestions?

Lance have you pulled all of the fuses out and cleaned the ends with an eraser??
Same goes for the relays, any relay that has corroded pins should be opened, smell all of them for burned smell open these as well.
Open the 14 pin connector above the hot post check the pins for corrosion and also open the back of the top portion and inspect the wires for failed insulation.
When you check the relays make sure you have the correct relay /part number in the correct slot same for the fuses, also make sure the empty fuse positions are empty.
Does the car have an alarm??
Fuse chart here, 928 SPECIALISTS ONLINE STORE - 30,000+ 928 Parts - 928 SUPERCHARGER KITS! on page 2 under tips and links print one off and keep it in the car

Bypass the factory alarm and see if that cures it.
