Rebuild of my Cassette Box - Mega pics

I took a bunch of pics while I was repairing my Cassette Box that is totally thrashed and broken to pieces. I am now waiting for my Rob Budd Porsche Crest Embroidered Black Leather one.

Ok, recieved the Cover yesterday and it is Sweeeet! Nice soft leather with grey porsche logo embroider. Oh, I ended up disregarding the piece I made for the under cover, Rob Bud sent a piece of carpet with the cover and decided to use it.

Last step is to put it on the car. It got dark fast so maybe tomorrow.

The PO had an Alpine Alarm Keypad mounted there. This made the top weak and walla, broken cover. Yeah, I though of just buying a good used one off eBay, but what's the fun in that?

God no! I have to keep up with my 2 year old. I have to pull my dashboard from my Mitsubishi Eclipse this weekend so I can put a new heater core in it. Life of a used car owner. I literally never owned a new car in my 43 years of life. I did most of my latest 928 Projects over my 3 weeks off during the holidays. Sure wish I had more time.

Done! Went to the local Home Depot to buy some small screws and some bigger ones that will hold the Box to the Center Hump. Hinge could use a fresh replacement, but will leave that for a later project.

good write up Leo.

I lucked out and bought a box off eBay, then took it to my upholstery guy and had it recovered to match my new interior stuff (that he did).

My car didn't have one, but I figured it would be a nice addition for an armrest while lazily harassing Corvettes......

Hello, Great job on the arm rest restoration. I have a quick question regarding the materials used. For the underside of the top lid, is that tan piece cork or wood? Also, what did you use for adhesive? Once you completed the top lid, what did you use to cover that cork/wood section? Leather, felt?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,
Mark
