Drove 6 Days straight in my 928

I got your attention huh? Well, I didn't drive 6 days straight, but 6 straight days to work and back and loving every mile. Total of 60 miles each day to and fro. Well my Project Car has been a real good Daily Driver so far. And to think this is the same car with huge unknowns and a seized engine I bought 2 Christmas's ago.

Leo, wow - Same car !!!!! I know you have done a lot of work on it - but is is worth it - believe me, going from my one owner -me - to my recent find has shown me how molested a 928 can be = and how much better it can look after a few days work -
Cheers

I still can't believe you didn't keep the dryer ducts. HAVE YOU NO TASTE MAN?

The before and after pics don't accurately represent the total amount of work Leo has invested in this car. You really need to view his thread on his site to get a good grasp of just how much time and effort have gone into his project.

I've been tooling on this project for 2 years and a month. I work a full week with OT and sometimes in the summer I can tool longer since the sun stays up longer. I would say i don't get enough days off

Sorry, I stand by my Dish Rims suck remarks. Seriously, why would you have such nice Brembos and then hide them with the Sewer Manhole Covers? I know there are lots of better choices in Rims, but PD's over Dish's by a Mega Mile

Yup, Dryer ducts were reused for my Clothes Dryer where they belong.

The black paint kind of grows on you over time. I like it better than red anyway.

It is supposed to be, but it seems to attract Law Enforcement rather than evade them. I find myself always with the Highway Patrol or Deputies behind me running my License Plates. I think it's more a magnet absorbing rather than radar absorbing

I had phone dials on my '79- all good, but if you want to run 245-45's a little pinched on the rim (no staggerd 7& 8's). Personally, if I could afford them I would get some exotic aftermarket rims in 17 or 18". I've seen some awesome wheels
on this site. Being my CFO (wife) already frowns on my toy budget (2 Ducati's,928,
assorted tractors etc.) I won't be buying new wheels anytime soon.

Leo,
Very impressive, sharp...the intake color mod is excellent, nice powder coated work and the blue silicon makes a great impact!!

I'm thinking of doing the same for my intake. Copying is the sincerest form of flattery; I'm sure you wont mind!

BTW, where do you get the blue silicon?
Also, the oil hose (to fill canister) is still black, is there a replacement for this (I have not sourced any)? Mine is cracked at the Y, and I was going to jury rig piecemeal hoses to mitigate the minimal oil seepage? I am planning to pull the spider when I replace this hose and that is a perfect time to do a "LEO" to my intake.

Thanks,
Jon

Silicone hose was bought as a 2 foot tube on eBay. Use an Exacto knife and cut slowly. Silicone cuts like butter with a sharp blade, so messing up the cut is easy and fast. Here is the stuff I bought.

1.75" x 2' Silicone silicon hose coupler blue 1 3/4":eBay Motors (item 310191426072 end time Jan-28-10 09:42:47 PST)

Also FYI, Spider was painted with some High Temp Black Wrinkle Finish Spray Paint. Powdercoating them would also make a good choice, just make sure to mask off the coupler joining areas.

Thanks,
Nice alternative to powder, less mess...
I'll bookmark the silicon source.

Is that oil hose I referenced earleir original, or if you replaced it where did you source it.

Oil hose is stock for my Euro. It looks like a Snake that just ate a mouse though and I should have replaced it when i had the Spider out, but not really knowing what the heck I was doing then, it got passed up. That hose has a clamp down way below the spider and will be impossible to change without yanking the whole spider out. Lessons learned.
