ABS Warning Light '87 928
The ABS warning light on my '87 928 S4 is on. It came on shortly during a recent rain then went off when the streets dried out. It came on again during more recent rains but now will not turn off.
Does this mean I need a new ABS control module? Is there such a thing? Does anyone have any ideas on how I fix this problem? The car has 101,000 miles. Thank you. |

Does the ABS work? It is probably just a wheel sensor gone out.

check the power wire next to the power steering reservoir disconnect the battery first as its hot.
Do you have a fender block off plate in the front left fender?? There are 2 relays on top of the ABS unit , you can pull them and see if they are working. Check the fuse panel for water and inspect the fuses clean them with an eraser same goes for the relays , and smell them for burns/melting any indications of heat open the relays. Check the connectors at each wheel and inside the engine compartment for frayed wires/disconnected wires
