Windshield -86.5 928 Parts interchange?

Welp, Safelite sucked. Question for those that may know..

Were there changes from year to year in the windshields? Seems to me they are hung up on the 'Your car is an 86' but claim to have windshields for 91 928s (which I believe were close to being the same size. Is it possible to install a later 928 windshield glass into an 86?

I believe that all of the windshields from '78-95 are the same size, the main difference (besides tints) is whether they have an internal antenna which covered 1985-1988. That is harder to find and more expensive usually.

You could ditch the internal antenna altogether and do something aftermarket. My old grey market benz had a really small unit mounted above the rear view that was amplified. Or.....

I know 928 WW is parting an 86.5. I'm sure mason has one.

Call Oklahoma Foreign and ask about the windshield. I had the cracked one in my 87S4 replaced and I think the replacement was from a 79. There were no problems with leaks .I was told to stay away from Chinese made glass due to wavy problems.
