I have heard of this infamous green wire, what exactly does the green wire do. I thought that is a wire to check if you don't have spark, I am receiving spark, I know this because I held on to it while it was cranking over. The one thing I did notice is that the cylinder #1 was filling up with gas and that is why I pulled the fuel pump relay and pumped it over until it was dry, I put the plug back in and it still didnt pop or sputter. So judging by the pics I sent in, my crank is at TDC and the cams are set up correctly and the dist button is at #1, now I can move it to other things. what else should I check for. How big is vacuum for these cars. I know I have a vacuum leak for sure, I am going to be fixing it on wednesday. I am on the road for the next few days. there is a device in which there is a 3/8" hose that connects to a 'T". one end of the hose connects to a "bottle" on the passenger side fender, the other end is in the valley of the intake manifold, I am thinking it is a fuel damper but I am not entirely sure. Anyway 1 of my "t" fittings is broke so of course that is causing a vacuum leak but is enough of a leak not to start it.

yep its enough to make it not start, vac leak -- your going there get them all changed. isnt the routing diagram on the hood, theres is thread how much ea footage of 3/8 , 1/4, 1/2 get at napa etc then size to each line cut/clamp swap them out. prob 20feet total hose there not expensive job
techron fuel inj cleaner into tank but a must to change fuel lines all lines air /fuel brittle..... fuel inj hose/clamps replacing each of the inj to rail. fuel inj cleaning can send out (which hunter etc) theres screens and pintles and flow pattern checking theyll do rebuild on them takes quick week... 100 bucks. while there out can do connector harness ends buy kits choice of crimp or solder . 30bucks once reassembled noid light into each inj con, and listen for click in each inj. theres thread for ground points - car drawing pic with red pinpoints where every ground is fuse/relay panel cleaning, just keep asking away where to get, how to do, where is it located.......... gasoline in your cylinder might suck ????????????????? |
why is gas in my cylinder a bad thing, I thought it means that the fuel pressure regulator is pumping way too much fuel in there or maybe the fuel injector is stuck open. I am going to check all the grounds too while I am changing the ground wires.
Once again I do thank everyone for their input, answers and advice. It is very much appreciated. |
Is only one cylinder filling with excess fuel or are they all over fueled? check the vacuum lines that come off the pressure regulator and fuel dampers. it they have any signs of fuel in these vac lines it could be a sign that the diaphragm in that unit is bad and when the engine draws a vacuum it can draw unmetered fuel through the diaphragm. if you have a mity-vac pump you can try drawing a vacuum on each individual unit to test that the diaphragm is still intact.

Excess fuel washes the oil off the cylinder walls, and way too much can hydrolock, piston goes up until all non liquid is compressed, then it abruptly locks because the fluid doesn't compress, and things like rods bend.
