WTB 928GTS PSD pump

I need a replacement PSD pump for the differential. Any ideas where I can find one?

Thanks,
Forrest

Call Roger @ 928sR Us. He can have your pump unit reconditioned. Hold on to you heart though as it is not cheap.

The PSD pump is about $1200 last time I looked.
We can offer a complete unit rebuilt and tested for about $1350 plus shipping.

I am sure someone will correct me but it stands for Porsche Stability Dynamics and is basically an electronic LSD. Fitted to 1990 to 1995 928's.

If you have a 928 fitted with the PSD it is very important to have the system flushed every two years otherwise the system seizes up and is very expensive to repair.

The reservoir is a consumable with an internal filter. About $35 and worth changing every two to four years to be safe.

Brad,

The PSD (Porsche Speer Differential) is an electronically controlled hydraulically actuated limited slip system that can vary the locking of the diff from 0-100% based on input from the controller. You still need to replace the lube in the differential as it is separate from the fluid for the PSD system. Check your owners manual for the correct diff. lube specs.

I'm really starting to appreciate my early 928.

Mike,
Thanks and I knew somebody would know exactly what it stands for.
The PSD (Porsche Speer Differential).

We take an existing PSD and check/change/replace all faulty components and then test it for a period of time in a bench mounted test rig to simulate use. Fit new hoses and reservoir.

I usually have an exchange unit on hand to ship to a customer with a suitable core charge.
Once the faulty unit comes back we repeat the process.
