 engine stalling

		hi guys,
Been a while since I was on here. Had the car garaged up for the winter. Anyway was getting her ready for a spin during the week and she started up fine but when it warmed up to 80c or so the engine just died on me. Started her again and ran for 4-5 min and dies again. I am able to restart it straight away but wont stay running unless i keep it over 1500revs but below that will just die again. left it sit over night and checked out a few posts but couldnt find anything similar posted. Started from cold the next day and same thing, fine running idle stable cold but when warmed up will just die on me after a while. I have noticed the fuel pump is getting abit loud and can here a buzz coming from the back could this be the culprit? or is there something else wrong hopefully not major? how do you know if pump is on the way out for sure.volume test? Any thoughts on this is appeciated. oh ya car is 86 euro spec model. |

I haven't had this but have read some recent posts on similar...WUR??
Someone will give a better response |

well if it starts and all looks ok, I would keep it running for 10 or 15 mins just to give things a chance to work back in after sitting for so long. No lifters to prime up so i am thinking fuel. you might want to check your fuel pressure and throw a new filter on just to eliminate that possibility.

 Hi Guys.
Thanks for the reply. Just wondering does my model have a WUR? Ya i could check the fuel pressure tomorrow. does anyone have what measures i should get?. ie system pressure? Could I hook up a measure to see what flow of fuel I'm getting from the pump think its ment to be 2000ml in 30sec? Would a bad pump get me less flow? I'm hoping its the pump to be honest as its an easy fix but any other thoughts are welcome. |

the contacts on the switches for warmup might need cleaning, as it sat for winter some months maybe condensation/slight corrision holding onto the contact/s

 Thanks guys.
Ya was thinking I don't have a WUR alright. Temp sensors sounds like a good place to start. Will do a resistance test on them later. Seems like something just cuts in at a certain temp so that is logical. Any other thoughts are welcome.... |
