It started on the first try.... Praise God! It doesn't smoke at first but when it starts to warm up it makes some white, blueish smoke. I need the fuel pressure gauges to adjust it. I drove it around the block several times and it will not idle or respond to idle screw. It also is not making much power under load. I will also check the timing. Coolant is coming out of the reservoir but I don't know where. I still see plenty in the reservoir so maybe it was too full? It shifts smooth and reverse works with backup lights. The only gauge I have that works is oil pressure. I am working on uploading some videos so stay tuned...

I thought it was to keep varying the rpms. Nothing constant for any extended period.

Drove it to gas it up with 93 octane. No power under load, stumbles and dies when I let off the gas. I set the timing and pulled a plug that showed too rich so I'm going to back the mixture up a bit. Engine bay is bone dry except for maybe some coolant getting out of the reservoir. The gas tank is leaking a bit since I filled it up. Still need to get it in tune. It felt pretty solid as far as suspension-Kinda like a 30 year old sports car. The steering rack reseal I did is holding up also and the steering feels proper.

You need those get some CIS Pressure Gauges Gunar. I have a feeling your stuff is way off. I'm pretty sure you did some adjustments to your A/F with the 3mm Allen? Correct?

Yes- I will get the gauges. I have adjusted the a/f mixture. I jumpered the fuel pump and turned the mix to just when the injectors started singing then backed it off a bit. After checking the plugs I backed off a bit more.

I am having my gauges repaired by Nichols in Greensboro,NC so I have the pod apart. I had the charging system checked at the parts store and of course it said I needed a new battery and alt. The battery that was in there was too small anyway and I bought an alt. with a lifetime guarantee. The test still said I was not charging after all this so I suspected the exciter circuit was not closed. I have pulled the diode out of the cluster and connected the 2 wires that go to it together with the diode and will have it tested now and see what happens. I am driving the car with the pod out and will put it all back when the gauges are finished. I also found a disconnected plug off the female side of the ignition switch plug that I don't know if it's supposed to be connected somewhere or what it does. Any help would be much appreciated. Gunar

That plug looks familiar, but can't quite figure out what that goes to.

How's the car running??

That plug fits into a male receptacle on the bar from the steering column to the ig switch location. It plugs in orientated up such that the receptacle is under the bar and you push the plug up into it.

You can not see where it goes on your pic, but on my car it is located about where your removed switch is located (on the underside of the bar) or in that area...the length of the wires should help you find the plug. It is for the Parking lights.

Still not running right- maybe 60% going down a hill. I have 047 injectors coming and CIS gauges ordered> Fuel Injection Testing Tools GM T.B.I. system - Bosch - eBay (item 260753897830 end time Mar-17-11 20:15:47 PDT) and >Mercedes Benz Brass Upgrade 8 Fuel Injectors CIS 85-92 - eBay (item 380325210441 end time Mar-24-11 06:52:38 PDT)

I pulled the plugs yesterday and #6 was totally new looking like nothing was happening in there so I switched the injector from a good cylinder and checked the spark there- Seems to be running a little better but a long way to go to final tune. It starts easily but 1st and reverse grind when car first starts so I have to kill it and restart the engine in that gear. After about 2 minutes it shifts into those gears perfectly. I took the WUR apart and cleaned it. Everything looked clean and intact in there. Spark is strong but maybe the no power under load, backfiring has something to do with the charging system. It revs fine when not under load. No smoking but strong smelling emissions. If I get all the basics in good shape I may take it to Motorworks for the final tune. I have it lic. plated and insured but still need safety inspection. I had a dual in dual out Magnaflow installed which took care of the loud exhaust problem. The right side exhaust is showing heat marking while the drivers side is not. Don't know whats up with that.
