spark plug wires 85 928s $$$
looking to buy a set of spark plug wires for my US 85 32v 928S.
I can't believe the prices!!!!! Why are some $400.00 and some as low as $175.00? Does it depend on where you buy them from? Do some come with the factory clips, and some don't? these seem the cheapest but what is the difference with these? they both say Beru |

Not sure. Different part numbers.
I ordered a set today. Black Beru wires with Beru M13 connectors. I will use exisiting ends, unscrew them from the old wires and screw them onto the new. The 928 wires are copper, not resistance. They are 7mm wire with M13 connectors crimped on each end. The resistors for non-interference are built into the ends. The ends are reusable. I will re-use the ends and just replace the wires, costing about $120. The last set I bought for an 86 included the ends and was $320 or so. Non of the sets include the clamps that mount to the motor or the little cam cover clips.

get the more expensive Beru wire set it comes with the outer wire insualtors this will prevent chafing of the wires and they will last quite a bit lo9nger and its almost a plug and play install except you will have to transfer the plastic wire separators to the new set

I make Beru wire leads: unscrew your wire ends, rescrew onto the new wires: instructions included: $119/set, can ship out tomorrow: available in Beru Black or Red, and I have a nice non-Beru Blue color as well.
I've made hundreds of these for 928/964/993 owners off of Rennlist. Mark

I'm just glad my '86.5 wires were replaced by the PO, otherwise I would have had to buy the set above, too!

I bought the Nology wires for nearly $400 about 7 years ago and they were a gigantic waste of money! These cars RARELY have any plug wire issues. Volkswagen VR6 engines have plug wire issues, but none of the various 928 engines have had any problems. Buy the cheapest set you can find! Nology wires actually look cool, but they are each about 12 inches longer than they should be, so you wind up with the red wires drapped across your engine. Some people like this, but I think it looks messy.

I love my DIY wire sets and cost is always a factor, but I hate throwing away 20 good wire ends simply because the wire leads were toasted.

Hey Guys, I have a 89 and during the read here I walked over to pull a plug wire.
So do they just pull up and out of the valve cover because it dose not want to move. I thought that I would ask before I broke an insulator or wire. Thanks ![]()
