That's not an uncommon happening.
Definitely a premium price for the repair, though. Some guys on Rennlist completed a major repair to the lower block due to AC bolt breakage, you might want to compare notes over there if you haven't completed the repairs yet. I'd actually still go the other way. If my V8 Chevy light trucks needed engines, the 4.5 or 4.7 Porsche engines would be my choices if they fit dimensionally. Freakin works of art, strong, reliable. |
uksailmaker I would consider checking the ride height of your car,
reset it to stock, then get a set of the Volvo MMs and install them if your car is later than 82 this will raise the engine and its accessories about 1 to 2 inches depending on the condition of the old MMs, Roger sells them |

Basically anytime you approach a Porsche problem with a money saving solution, be prepared to spend a boat load before its "really" fixed. |
I'm selling my GT.... It's hardly being used on account of my new family and it looks like it's going to stay that way for a while. There's just no end to it in sight... well, maybe when he goes off to college :) I drove it a handful of times this summer and it's just killing me to have it sitting around.
I need a sedan. i would trade + cash for a c 36, c32, e55, S4, s8, a8, or m5 in that order. |
