The best engine managment

So... I have a 89 shark that I want to make tuneable.

The problem is I don't know the products and versatility

Do I buy the Sharktuner found here

SharkTuner for the Porsche 928 - JDS Porsche

.............OR...............

do I go with the

Engine Management System (EMS) kit from 928 Motorsports found here

928 Motorsports - Electromotive TEC GT Engine Management System

..............Or is there something better.............

SharkTuner, I think John has a second version more for end users cheaper than the first version. You will get a large support community along with the hardware etc.

Do you think the replacement parts that you get with 928ms make up the difference in cost.

Absolutely not. The aggravation alone would be incredible, both with suppliers and technology. Any 928 parts needed are inexpensive if you are alert and opportunistic when guys part-out cars.

Basically, pick your puzzle and partners. Leave price out of it. Its about support.

There seems to be a growing body of knowldedge, approaching critical mass, with the tuning of the stock components & system w/the sharktuner.

The replacment systems seem more fringe as do their proponents. If you want to say you broke it down and rewired its mentality yourself, and like interactions with a handful of others that are doing the same to the tune of their own drummer, then go fringe. (Which, come to think of it, after you (successfully) defied all odds and all advice in fixing that engine, might be fun for you!)

You will probably win either way, but that's because its you.

Thanks for the reply Landseer,

I am not sure what you mean by fringe?
I understand that you are saying, that with 928ms, its a complete rewire and reboot/relearn which could be a nightmare without proper support.
Thanks for the compliment on the main bearing job, it wasn't that bad of a job.
I wouldn't have to do an alignment now if I had had more time and a engine crane available to pull the engine.
Picking that up to pull the engine for this winters project. I want to replace all the old wiring, hoses, and refresh the top end.

So I am just checking my options for HP increase and mods while I am at it.

Cost, like you said, is not in my equation, I just want the best so I don't have to redo later. I do not know either system, so I ask.
