Alternator Cooling Hose
My cooling hose for alternator/exterior HVAC temp sensor is collapsed, where can I get a similar type of ducting to avoid paying $90 for a new part? I see similar style ducting on alot of the racecars at Lime Rock, so I imagine it is not uncommon, is it something special or would any type of material work?

Try here OldCarStuff and go to "Air Duct". The sizes are in inches but just get the closest metric equivalent and it will work. Nice coated fabric around wire core. Worked great on my '90S4.

I went to the aviation supply store at the airport they had a nice silicone duct 2 1/2 in. in diameter i bought 4 feet of it,
cost 24.00. Fits like a charm

That dimension threw me off. If it is indeed 6 feet then that is an excellent deal! I might just order one tomorrow.

2 1/2 inch... sounds like the same size as the heater "fresh air" ducts on air cooled beetles. Find a good volksie shop you'll be able to pick up some flexible foil metal ducting up for $1.5-2 a foot.
