rear hatch wont open
 

I looked through the forum but can’t find the answer. My rear hatch is stuck and will not open using the key or electric releases. The trunk release motor and rods are turning. I adjusted the motor but still no success. The key turns but wont release. I have an ’87 any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You need to crawl into rear and remove tool cover. Using a screwdriver or similar push nylon cog to open. When open crawl out and lookk to see what is broken on assembly.
