Warning Lights and Hazard Lights
How do I get the warning lights for low fuel and low oil pressure to light up? I don't see a place to replace any light bulbs for those on the back of the instrument cluster. I see screws going into the back of the panel that may apply.
Also, when I turn my hazard lights on, only the passenger side lights are coming on and blinking. The drivers side lights don't come on or blink. |

the bulbs your looking for are behind the black diamond shaped nutted plugs gauge disassembly is required for replacement, make sure the gauge connectors are all plugged in properly and the foil wrap isnt damaged this can cause light failure. Note the foil wrap wire carriers can be damage from flexing or when a connector is put on at its connection point the wrong way.
For the lights its best to start fresh, make sure to replace all of the bulbs on both sides with the same bulb, there are different wattages , so pay attention to that as well, side marker lights can also cause the warning system to light up even though all other markers are lit/ Make sure to chack the fuse panel first as there are fuses for each set of the marker lights as well for each headlight hi and low beams get a fuse relay chart at 928gt.com on page 2 under tips and links print one off and put it in the car

Thank you, Mrmerlin. I know the black diamond shaped nutted plugs you are talking about. I am still not sure what you are saying to do on the hazard lights. All the lights work when turned on. It is just when I hit the hazard light switch, only the lights on the passenger side come on and blink. Nothing happens with the lights on the drivers side.

first you have to go through all of the bulbs and make sure they are all the same side to side ,
if not then buy a new sets, and use the ones in the car now for spares. Next do the turn signals work? , with the key off put the TS stalk in either left or right position what happens, them move the TS stalk to the opposite side , what happens? You may have either a bad TS switch or a bad Hazard switch , also inspect the rear of the CE panel for melted wires and or look at the all of the insulation any wire that has a satin sheen to it has gotten hot the normal color is a flat gray

Thanks again. Turn signal lights work fine on both sides. Sounds like the most likely culprit is the Hazard Light switch itself or the wiring. What is the CE panel?

No surprise. I've had the car for almost 11 years. I am very familiar with the fuse and relay board. I didn't, and still don't, know what the CE stands for. I do know now you are talking about the wiring on fuse board. I don't know alot when it comes to testing electronics and wiring. Thanks.
By the way, I see you also live in Aurora. Do you work on these cars for a fee? More reasonable than the shops and dealers? |

Actually the light bulbs are inside the gauges and the black diamonds on the back are the pins that are put into the gauges to connect the power.
These bulbs are for the warning light positions The small bulbs are the same ones that go into the pod switches to illuminate the switches at night
