Intake Manifold GasketS?

I am going to tackle the top end refresh.

I want to pull the entire intake off down to the heads and freshen the Throttlebody (including throttle shaft orings).

I see the Intake manifold gasket sets.

928-110-566-04-M17 -Listed as Intake manifold Gaskets - Victor Reinz [2 required @ 5$ per]

928-110-568-01-OEM -Listed as Intake Manifold Gaskets - OEM [4 required @ 79$ per]

Are the Victor Reinz gaskets 300$ more inferior than the OEM gaskets? Is there something Im missing ? I would really want to do this just 1 time.

Halp !

THanks in advance.

I used the $4 ones. Couldn't tell the difference. They are different part numbers. Both are listed in PET. Do not know the difference. Maybe the expensive ones are silicone.

What year is your neun-hundren octen zwansiege [sp?] or 928? Your profile doesn't tell us, and I don't know if the 2 valve intake gaskets work with the four valve engines, or vice-versa.

[German is a strange language: Did you know that in German our cars are known as "nine hundred and eight [plus] twenty"

I redid my intake manifold in 2008, to include powder-coating the "spider". I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!!!!!!!!!

It cost $125, and while the person in question did a cruddy job, it is still infinitely better than the bare metal, which had to be cleaned and polished all the time to look right. The powder-coating made this a non-issue- I wipe it down once or twice per year, but it is SOOOO much easier to make the engine bay look tidier with this done!

Good luck, and put your year and gearbox in your signature line.

N!

There is a metal crush set and a paper set for the early 32V cars.

The metal crush set was listed as an improvement or update in some literature I saw.

I'm running the paper sets and they seem OK. I used felpro tacky stuff on them.

If I had less budget limitations, I'd probably have opted for the more expensive ones.
