sun roof repair

Hey, board.
Does any one have the correct procedure to remove the headliner in the in 1984, porsche 928. Sun roof drops dowm but will not pull back when switch is activated. Sounds like the mechanism is running back and forth.
Can push up on sunroof as it comes to rest on the close position and it moves up and stays in close position. Can fix if I don't tear up the headliner trying to remove it. Could use some help?

The grease on the tracks etc. turns to glue over time and needs to be cleaned off and relubricated with non dirt attracting lube.

Parts of this job suck beyond imagination, getting it all back together "just right". Take your time, repeat steps as needed.
