headlights not fully open
 
hi all i have a new problem with my headlights the are not fully open i have to help them with my hand to fully open them do i have to add liquid or any idea its a 928 1978 euro

mine was doing the same thing turned out that the gear inside the motor was striped out .... so I replaced t with a used one works great now ... ( side note ) make sure if you do this write down what color wire to # you have on the old one ...

Check the screws securing the linkage to the shaft. I found all of mine had come loose and caused the linkage to slip making the lights shine up at the tree tops instead of fully extending to the proper angle. If you're missing screws, you can buy identical screws at any hardware store.

On my '79, the three 10mm (IIRC) bolts that secure the motor have adjustment slots, check positioning and tighten. It is best to have someone hold the headlight so you can use both hands to secure the bolts. I needed to do it in the up position first then the last bolt once down.
