928 mystery no start

I have read many posts and am much the richer as a resul. I still have a problem in that my 86.5 928 automatic wont start. I have changed the relays, checked the fuel, cleaned and resealed the fuel injectors and it will even run for a few seconds if I spray starter fluid into the air intake pipe but it wont start and run on its own.
What else is there that I can check/do to get it to start? It seems like maybe it is not getting any go juice but the more I try and start it, the fuel pump gets warmer. I would really appreciate an suggestions or help you might be able to share.
Thanks
James

Well it is obvious you have spark-so no fuel. Check your fuel pressure. There is a connection for testing on the passenger side fuel rail. Spec is 33-39 psi(2.3-2.7 Bar). If no fuel pressure, check fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator.

If you have fuel pressure check injectors. Check that you have 12 volts going to them first and then check resistance of the coils. The WSM has the spec for the resistance. The LH computer opens the injectors so it could also be the culprit. Good Luck.

Ahh a clue is the fuel pump getting warmer,
what that means is its seizing and the 12 Volts is heating it when the switch is engaged.
replace the fuel pump and the fuel filter .
order 3 new sealing washers and the hard pipe from the pump outlet to the filter.
also drain off some of the fuel from the tank and smell it,
if it smells old then you should consider flushing out the tank prior to, installing the new pump.
