Need help reading schematic
 

Could somebody tell me what the numbers in bold type at the bottom of the schematic by the ground line mean. I looked on the page in the manuel that tells you what the symbols mean but there's nothing there.

In circles associated with a circuit connection at the bottom of the diagrams?
That tells you which ground point.
The key is on the first page.

You are doing the right thing sorting out the lingo on these. The notation is subtle, and it all means something important. Once you fully crack the code its nirvana because the car electrics become much less of a mystery.

So, these circled numbers are usually associated with brown wires...grounds
