2v Euro Cams

Hey Guys- Is there any interest in a pair of 2v Euro Cams. I saw a popular wholesaler selling them for $1100 a pair. I was going to keep these for when I need a rebuild but my motor is plenty strong. What are they worth? Thanks, Jeff

Euro - Cams

Hey kupcar, Is your car sporting a Euro engine now ? There were a couple of postings on ebay awhile back for some 928 Euro engine parts. I would think in order to properly benefit from the lift and duration of these cams you really need the complete piston, intake, distributor set-up, to achieve the rated HP boost.

I am sure the seller would love to get $1,100 for the pair - but, if you are considering building a nice Euro engine and not in any hurry, keep your eyes open and something may just fall in your lap.

Good Luck, Michael

$1,100 a pair? I've got two pairs of those cams I would sell in a heartbeat if I could get anywhere near that price for them.

Doesn't it matter what year Euro too? I think the 85-86 Euro cams were even a bit more aggressive than earlier ones. and if they are a 4.5 euro I don't even think they are different.

I'm really not looking to sell. I too thought $1100 was a bit pricey but that's what they are listed for at Intl. I actually have a Euro set-up with a bit more aggressive cam, ported euro heads and runners. Runs great, 20,000 mi. on a 80 Euro 5-speed. Jeff

928Intl prices have no bearing on anybody else, a lesson that was rather expensive for a number of people to learn who tried to duplicate what they do. A third to a half is the best most normal sellers can hope for. Thats the range I would sell any spares I have for.

I paid $ 1000.00 for a set of core "S" heads from a place and they were cut beyond usable. I had to return them. The last set of "S" cams I purchased I paid $ 500.00. That seems to be the going rate through private parties.

Rich- That 914 project looks like fun. I too have bought euro s heads. Lucky for me they were rebuilt with new guides and valves. I did pay quite a bit at Intl' for them but they were perfect and worth the money. What transmission (915?) are you using in that 914? Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Ya you betcha, it's a hoot to drive. Since 2004 I have driven it all over the US from So Cal/No Cal to Huntsville, to Hershey. When I hit the throttle it makes me look 16 again. All the wrinkles fly to the back of my head!

I'm running a 901 with HB 5th and ajusted stack to work with the RPM's.

To build it? you mean with one engine or three? Never bothered to keep track. Hm. If I had to think about it I would have to say lots of money and time.

Actually tested both type of Euro cams on the dyno. Very little difference in both hp and torque. Just took very minor adjustments in fuel and timing and both were very close. I think within 3-5 horsepower. Jeff

It was a while back, but I want to say $2750. That was for the S heads, new guides, 3 angle valve job and valves. They were/are perfect. You can spend lots of money on head work and flow bench testing. Jeff
