Everyone else here knows we use humor to keep us sane with all the 928 issues we encounter. Not sure where your coming from, except from left field. I wasn't going to name you out, but you "should" go elsewhere.

WTF where is this coming from? I've not seen any evidence of this reading almost every post here? Play nice, this forum is one of the few without this crap..

Chill out, men.
We have too much in common here to argue.
Have a internet virtual beer together and lets drive-on.

God knows I've made my quota this week for wise ass posts. Trying to be a better citizen. Feels better at least. So far.

Who are you? You sound like some punk off Bannlist with the initials RV. Here's what pretty much sent me off the edge and you think I will just sit back and take your crap "I certainly would not put a"shark teeth" plate holder on my car as one showed here before. Real cheap, tiny bopper idea, kids thing, not a Porsche man!"

Seriously? Who are you and why are you here? We have been building a community here with helpful answers using humor to keep it fun. When you call me out and basically call me an immature kid and not a Porsche Man? You can look at all my previous posts and I always tell people to do what they want to do as it's their car, and I use a little humor in my answer on this OP and you call me out like that?

Remember, you called me out and threw the first attack. Granted, I don't have the authority to make you go, but I am sure we can all be in agreeance that attacking is a Bannlist attitude we all don't want that here. So, I am asking you to stop your attacks or just leave.

Yes, I remember. I am just an owner of a nice 928S I purchased at a great price and it was almost in new condition. I got a hell of a deal! Actually I was not even in the market for one. Some did not believe it was in storage for 19 years and had 38K original miles on it from the get go, but everyone I know here where I live know the truth. Anyway, I like the site and the experts here which have been of great help. I may just sell the car and move on, but it's been fun to drive and I drive it a lot. I have other cars to drive. You know I just may keep the car!

Some of the mods on these look good, others not to much. I happen to like the little cover over the rear glass. Big spoilers, not so much but it seems to be a trend on cars today. Not much use unless going over 120 MPH. I tend to stick to the speed limit. Maybe I will put one of those little covers on mine some day. I tend to like stock however.

Yes It's the Shade Hatch Post > Thanks >Sometimes late at night I just like to View / read the Interesting "Auto Dilemma " post's here.
You Know It's Interesting that my C4 1990 Porsche 911 has that Nice and quite large Rear Spoiler but not huge " that Open's and Closes at different Speeds to hold the rear tight on the road
( And it does work ) Its a extremely Fast Car by the way and needs a Spoiler .
Now those Models seem to be the big seller for Porsche that's for sure .
Perhaps such Spoilers contribute to some Like aftermarket and Custom Accessory's like a Rear Shade on a large Window.
Course the 911 series is a true Sports Car ( Pre 1999 ) and the 928 a Touring Car and well designed in General. So for me ? would play into the Accessory's Pro and Con Model to Model.
What's Great about the 928 is you get a easy to repair ( Compared to all air cooled Porsche Models after the 356's ) and they are very inexpensive to buy >
Now I expect if one want's to play around and or try this or that a 928 is just perfect for that unless your quite wealthy > IE: you want to tack something on the front or back of $30.000 to $40,000 " USED "Porsche Sports car or try something on a Much lesser costing Porsche Model like a 928 ? Heck Mine is running Good so far with a bad Interior and I paid $300 for it a simple 1980 US 5 Spd if I want to try something " a accessory " humm shall I try it on my Used $30,000 Sports Car or my $300 Touring car ?
just my 2 cents
I sure got some great Tips here for getting my 928 up and running thanks all for that

These Porsches are in some cases heirlooms and get tucked away. Yours sorta fits that mold, but actually with higher mileage than some. The richies buy stuff to have it and to say so, that's why many aren't driven. Sounds like its in a good home. Keep it. Drive it and enjoy.

That's all we are doing. Driving them.

I allways thought they did'nt get driven because if they broke they cost so much to fix.:)
The up side is that those of us that have the skills to fix them, get GRRREAT cars dirt cheap. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/clap.gif

Aluminum:

I see many 911's around here in summer. I was never a big fan of them but they go fast. I like the styling of the 928 and Boxster better. A friend has a 356 here in pristine condition and recently drove old Rt 66 in it all the way to Cal. He said parts are getting hard to find. Yes, the 928 is cheap for what it is, actually quite a car. My car is stock except for the radio, which had to be replaced. I have the original in a box. I do like that spoiler on the later 928's but I guess a bit of a job to configure to my 86 model. I need some touch up work on my rear bumper. It had a few nicks when I got it.

What Landseer mentioned is correct. Many of these cars were just one of several the original owners had. That was my case. He had a collection of cars. (I still would like to get the 97 Jag convert he has with 2,300 miles on it). Right now I am just trying to keep the car in good running shape. I keep it garaged (heated) and only drive it on nice days, never in winter unless roads are free of snow and salt. I like the 928 because of it's handling and comfort. Really nice to drive.

Let us know if you get that hatch shade cover. I think it may cover my center brake light, not sure.
