What's the best Radar Detector for the 928 > Now I expect Static may be a issue with the 928 ?
and what about the Jammers

So no Doubt the Expert Advice I have gotten on Repair led me to ask about the Detector's if anyone Knows ?
Thanks in advance in California.
I expect perhaps Jammers are not legal ? Like speeding hummm

I found this information:

Laser Jammers and Radar Jammers are illegal in the states of Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC.

If you decide to use a laser jammer in one of the states that they are outlawed, consider getting the Blinder M-20 or M-40 or the Lidakek LE-30. The Blinder and the Lidatek are the only laser jammers made today that give minimal "error codes" to the police laser guns.

I know they were once illegal in Michigan, but no more. I don't use any myself.

the "Blur" License Plate Covers are interesting
I expect as the Jammers are not legal just a good Detector is best for California
But You can fight tickets and win

The best "radar jammer" is to drive approximately the speed limit.

-Now that I've made a complete hypocrite of myself, I read an article in one of the major car magazines a few years back that basically stated that laser jammers don't work, and that radar jammers often times don't either. A radar jammer, in conjunction with a good detector such as a Valentine One, could in fact give you a few precious seconds in which to react. This was about 5 years ago, and I suspect that technology has advanced since. Advanced on both sides of that contest, that is. The long and short is that one of the car magazines needs to update this test.

Frankly, I think that a good discrete dash cam that can record conversation, along with a Valentine One radar detector is probably the best way to get out of a ticket.

Lucky Day -

Hey Aluminum, I do not know about others, but I have found that for the latest information on laser radar technology, detectors, jammers and the most up-to-date countermeasure dance around the facts too much and usually do not clearly come out to select any one specific product under all conditions. Some supposedly independent equipment endorsements and positive appraisals have been sourced back to blogs doctored up by the manufacturer. The same was found to have been generated by a competitor when negative comments were made.

In most cases if I have run through the tracking beam of a laser radar I was pretty much toast in the courts no matter what kind of hardware I was packing. But I was able to dispute a camera generated red light ticket once as I followed a car through an intersection. Although the time interval of the yellow light was borderline legal (3.9 sec/40 mph) it was the 14th amendment that swayed the traffic court judge. Under this constitutional amendment it simply states that you must be penalized equally (be provided equal protection) under the law. A photo red light ticket falls under civil law jurisdiction and penalties while a ticket issued by a policeman is under a criminal statute. I argued that the punishment was not equal under the law and the judge threw the ticket out. I have heard that this (and others - right to face your accuser, etc....) type of photo ticket defense did not work - perhaps it was just my lucky day.

Michael :)

We have so many police around here it's like living in an armed camp. We have, State, City, County and Indian (casino). The Indian police do patrol the interstate and local roads and can and do give out tickets. Yes, they have authority to do so here. I keep the speed limit and once in a great while open it up for a brief few seconds when all is clear. I know all the speed traps here. Don't think I need a radar detector. I let the out of state drivers get all the tickets. Most of them drive 10 and 15 over the limit! Had a guy in a black Vette pass me the other day. I said to myself, go ahead sucker! Yep, 2 miles down the road he was pulled over!

Now I Like This : JK McDonald
" I argued that the punishment was not equal under the law and the judge threw the ticket out. "
Yes I can understand "Also " how It's Confusing when a Car is right in front of you entering the Intersection . However One must use the butter that fit's the bread sometimes.
Now I know for a fact that Jammer's work ! But are Illegal
I also have heard that a Patrol Officer can not hide but am not sure what they call that ?
" Entrapment " ?

So the Question comes to mind ? Can you see Radar ? hummm
So a lot of California is still 55 MPH and some 65 MPH Point being It's sometimes hard to drive that speed for various reasons > I can think of several .
SO Now the Detector is the way to go if you can find a excellent one that gives you some several seconds to use the legal equipment.
******************************************
So One time I am driving in The Mojave Desert about 3 AM . It's Clear out and about 80 Degrees.
Road is straight mostly and in good condition . Traffic is for the most part none .
I am cruising at 90 > 95 MPH Vacation to Las Vegas 1990 C4 911 spoiler wing extended ( pop's out after 50 I think )
So a Female Hi way Patrol Officer I discover is parked way out in the sagebrush with Light's out about 1/4 mile out off the road .
I see the lights pop on and a car coming toward the Hi Way Behind me
So She Say's I got you on Radar going 94 MPH !!!!! her face is animated and voice very excited
Now I know I am going to get a ticket and I kind of thought I might anyway hummm
So ? what did you pull me over for ?????
Again with her voice excited I have you on Radar at 94 MPH bla bla
>> I said this car goes a easy 150 MPH ? I am barely Moving ? Is no traffic and It's Clear ?
She say's DON"T DO IT !!!!
I said I am on Vacation so everything is ok !
ya a Big ticket ?I forget what it cost ? but a lot > $500 $600 > Traffic School < that drill
************* another Ticket story out of countless thousands ***********
