928 slave cylinder question

Hello, I just purchased a clutch slave cylinder for my 1982 928. after purchasing it i realized that i bought one from a 1986. there are 2 different part #`s for the different years. does anyone know if the 1986 one can be used in the 1982 and what are the differences, they appear to be similar. thanks Doug

it might be down to a push rod difference,
if you have the same diameter ,
it should be stamped and the other dimensions look the same then you should be able to pull out the new pushrod and swap in the old one if they are different.

grease the tips of the pushrods with hi temp grease
