central indicator panel

Well, I pulled mine out yesterday to see why it wouldn't work, and all the wires are gone! I've searched for a pic to see what the connector I'm looking for looks like...no joy. Anyone got a pic? Thanks.

this may help ? not sure what year your working on ? :
most likely several places on one of the 2 boards need re soldering but also burned out resistors and capacitors . Moisture gets in the box > you can pry out the boards after bending the tap's back. They may be stuck in the Case some so take your time. Once out you can separate the boards from each other > Plastic pin clip
Repairing your Porsche 928 Central Warning System (CWS) controller

If your Warning is On all the time with the key on :
Try turning on the key after unbolting the box to see if the warning light go's out with the box pulled back from ground . If the light go's out most likely the cause is in the box . (1) The easy Fix is to try a know working
box (2) install a good box new or used . Someone on the forum may have one 1978 x 1983 box > ( number on the back of box perhaps like my 1980 > 928 641 602 .01

Hey, thanks for the info aluminum! I did see that link before but my problem is (at least) with the piece right below the climate control and above the stereo in the center console unit. When I removed it, the wires on the back were not attached. I found a 4 wire connector not attached to anything. I'm "guessing" this is what needs to be soldered back onto the back of the indicator panel. I didn't see any other stray wires under the console. I just don't know which ones go where. If I could find a picture of one I'd use that as a guide to get mine soldered up. Here's a pic:

Don't know if these pics help. On my 85 model I have two connectors coming off this unit. Also, the color wires you have in your connector here don't match with what I have. Can give you more detailed pics if that will help.

That's great Wrentham636 Just what I'm looking for. I'm looking more closely at the back of mine and think there is another connector to find. My panel only has a seat belt light and the "!" button. I believe I'm looking for a 2 wire connector under there now, unlike your 4/5. As in my sig, mine is an '83 US model. The number on the part is: 928.641.?09.10 (the question mark is a tear in the paper so I don't know the number).

Thanks for the help so far guys!
