take off your door panel and look behind the handle,, then you will figure out what broke

dude ,there are some screws on the bottom in the carpet, there are some size 10mm screws in the door pocket, one in the air vent, the panel above door pocket just pops out and slides out from behind exit handle,, exit handle has a screw in cover over handle, and where the lock spins , pop of cap with small flat head screw driver and remove either screw or 8mm nut, then spin off bezel in back of locking mechanism, large needle nose will do it,two screws at wiring harness bezel at front of door, then there are only plastic push clips holding it on pry back door panel,, slide drivers panel to right and pass door to left,, there is a retaining bracket in the corner behind the trim mldg that surrounds upper part of door, power mirror button has a disconnect plug, take off panel then be careful removing plastic , it is a moisture barrier,,, your door handle answer lies inside the door, parts are available at 928 intl

there's a metal plate attached to the back side of the handle. Mine failed. same issue. or one of the many little plastic piece let go. Once you get the door panel and security plate off it will be obvious (I hope you have tiny hands) ;)

did not open door yet
looks like the end of the handle closest to the rear of car, is loose.
Looking at parts manual, maybe screw came out

First thing to do is find a 5 year old kid that will work for $5 and be proud to say he fixes Porsches... ;)

(Or search this forum for words to that effect)

I had the same thing about $NZ100 for a replacement cast hinge fitting.

Instructions here

The exploded diagram in the PET is the first place to get your head around - especially that anti theft plate.

one thing that I read somewhere else was to tape the handle from the front so it does not move during the process
