928 Perf ?
I think the 928 is a really sharp car. I own a 1980 v8 Corvette, the torque and power it puts out is amazing. I have never been in a 928 or seen them in action. How does the v8 928 compare to the power of a v8 vette?
What are the perf specs of the 928? Is there a website that lays out the specs for each year? I have been looking at a few for sale that are posted on the web and most are high in miles, what does a 928 rebuild cost?

vettes were the 928 best competion
Year for year the guys in Germany made sure that the 928 was a little faster than them Bow ties.
Plus we have two back seats! Bigger brakes, higher top speed, better handling. There is a Vette around every corner (like 7-Eleven). 928, 928S, 928S4, 928GT, and finally 928GTS. Look at the site 928S4VR.com |

Despite it's weight, the 928 can go very fast. Not as nimble as the 911 or the *gasp* 914, but still has a lot of power. I'd say that the 928 was the Porsche most like a Vette...

I almost bought a Vette when looking for my next fun ride. After driving a bunch of Vette's from new (2000) to the older ones (1987) and then one 1984 928. The Porsche 928 won hands down!
Now I own a nice 1989 928 S4 with 37,801 on the clock and love every mile I drive it. Max ![]() Last edited by M.Max; 03-14-2002 at 01:53 PM.. |
