Brake wear sensors & Rotor thickness??

Maybe a stupid question, but I assume there are wear sensors on all braking wheels (1990 S4)? Are each sensor the same or are rears different from fronts?

How often should these be changed, or just do it always with a brake job?

Also, what is satisfactory rotor thickness to do a "turn" and not outright new purchase?

Any good links to completing this job? I do my other cars, but want to make sure I do this one properly...obviously

Thanks as always for any input!

Mat.

Brake pad sensors are on all 4 wheels. You will need 2 front and 2 back sensors - you can't put front sensors on the back wheels. I heard you can reuse them as long as you can pull one out intact - they don't cost that much though so I ended up buying 4 new sensors when I was doing brakes earlier this summer.

Cheers!

Awesome! Loved the detail!

Great tip to file down the brake pad slots for the sensors. I used a round file and put them on the pads before clipping back in...you can get the wiring harness up through the middle of the clip quite easily and then I plugged them in after the caliper was bolted back into place.

On to the next project!

Thanks for the link!
