Brake rebuild
Looking for some help locating a front caliper rebuild kit for a "79". I checked w/ our sponsor , but they only carry the boot. I thought I saw, at one time, a kit that included the pins , springs and boot- but can't seem to find it now.
Thanks for your time, John

I also realize that a rebuild kit would be significantly less, but if you cannot find them, this might be an option.

Bump on locating the cross springs, retainer pins and a couple of bleeder screws. Can't find anything on the web, thought maybe someone out there might have sourced them?
Thanks, John

I'm fortunate that PO saw fit to replace brakes and rubber all four corners. My upper/lower control arms need help though and i'm noticing how clean yours are. Are they refurbed or is there a way to clean them? Mine look like they've been at the bottom of the sea for the last 100 years. BobG

Hi Bob,
Allot of elbow grease and brake parts cleaner. I own a repair shop, so I had a little help from my employees, but mine were like what you describe when I started. I disassembled mine completely though. It will all come off with a little work! ![]() ![]()

What is the "Porsche" made of? btw consider putting the jack stand under the pad behind the wheel. You can just see the bottom of it in the pic

Dog died! No really , had her for 13 years. She was next to my bed last night cold.
Please accept my apologies. That was uncalled for and I'm sorry Pete. Thanks for the advice. John

That's awefull and understood. The only time I ever saw my Dad cry is when our dog died. Sounds like she went peacefully though. Sorry John

Thanks Pete,
Quick update on parts sourcing. Most are available from Pelican but I wanted new cross springs and retainer pins. These have to come from Germany and take 3 to 4 weeks from Vertex, there on the way? Bleeder screw from 928 specialist. Needed new piston in one , that from 928 Intl. Bad pitting on piston. ![]() ![]()
