What happens when you step on the gas is a bit of a hint as well, especially the top end.

How about some pictures? Especially the side and rear. Like Neil said, the engine numbers will tell you also.

pics to come, when i step on the gas it is not very darty off the line. it cruises good at 55, and takes off pretty quick i think it is fastest from 60-90 mph , so off the line is sluggish, top end is pretty quick.

When a Euro S hits about 3500 rpm you should have a big smile that doesn't droop til redline. With a non S it still pulls, but you feel a bit of drop starting just over 5k rpm.

Off the line all are pretty much the same.

VIN, motor ID, head and intake casting numbers are what I check.

Yup, and this is why I told him to post pics of the side and rear of the car. Euro has the front side markers behind the wheel when the US has them in front of the wheel. Also rear bumper has a Red Fog Lamp with no Bumperettes, when the US doesn't have a Fog Lamp but has the Black Rubber Bumperettes.

Motor numbers, I've never seen a car with out the rear bumpers(I'm not saying Dano wrong about that), they may have to have been added to meet us specs if a euro was brought over. You can solve it with a 10 second look in the engine bay. Even if the body is a Euro anything could be in there by now 30 years later.

Post Motor Number. Don't you have a digital camera or one on your cell phone?

My Euro Bumper. Yes, some that were Federalized may have Bumperettes.

Owning a 928 is risky business - but sometimes you just gotta say "what the fudge".
