How to remove the plastic hatch latch.

Like the title says how do you remove the plastic latch from the lock assembly?

It looks to me like it is just a roll pin type pin but after some serious pounding on it it never budged (I hit it from both directions) is there a trick I am missing?

I found this on banlist

How do you remove/disassemble the hatch upper latch? Now - Hatch rattle fix. - Rennlist Discussion Forums

I guess I need to drill out that pin or to just put the latch in the press and press the pin out

Hello, you might want to check the receiver part of the lock, it has a plastic incert which gets worn. This might be your problem. They are replaceable. If this piece is very worn you won't be able to latch your lock at all. Check it out. Thanks, Steve

Not saying it applies, but do you have roll pin punches?

I do at work so I might just bring it there and pull the pin out. I just noticed that the houseing is cracked so I am going to weld it up also.

Yes that is the part I am having trouble replacing but like I said in reply to my self I think the banlist post pretty much covered that you have to drill the old one out first

Edit: Well I misread that the first time. I am missing mine so I better get one of those also while I am at it.

Where can you get the plastic receiver insert? I was told they are NLA and had to buy a whole used assembly. It was well worth it considering the rattle that it cured
