Looking for 82 complete wiring harness and some Oklahoma guys
Alright guys I'm starting to tear more into my car and I haven't been as gentle as I should have been. Some of the old plastic connectors have broken pieces off on me. So in order to save myself some headache of worrying about corrosion and replacing connectors/parts of the harness I would like to see if anyone have a full harness for sale and if so what would I be looking at to get it?
Also I am going to start pulling the motor from my car and would like to have some advice/input/help from some local guys as I am doing it so they can help point out things that I may need to do. So, is there anyone in the Oklahoma City area on here? I would really like a more experienced eye to look at this car with me. I know my way around a car and how to work on them but not on these Porsches. |

I'm actually looking for the complete engine harness. Or at least the fuel injector harness minimum. I may need that as well but I have not looked at it yet. Just curious how much you are wanting?
-edit- and would that 85 harness work on my 82? |

$150 shipped. The are no longer available. I never pulled the main harness from the passenger footwell. Hard to find them because they are hard to get through the firewall.

Well I know I have broken a few connectors and I don't know if they can be replaced or if there is a way I can disconnect them from the main harness via a connector or anything like that.
I'm not looking to buy it right now, just trying to get an idea of cost. It wont be till spring time or later that I will be able to consider purchasing one. And the guy in that other thread probably needs it more than I do at the moment. |

I also just checked and I do have the injector harness for a US model '84. However, it was cut where it enters the firewall. Both sides are still attached to the injectors and it also has the connectors for the MAF, and other items. You would have to do some soldering to the original if it is still intact.

That might work. I wonder if there are any diffs between the years? How much would you want for that? Soldering is that big of a deal for me. little bit of solder and some heat shrink and it would be golden.

PM me your email and I can shoot a picture for you. If your car has the fuel rails on each side, then I think they are all the same. I think '80-'86 was all the same.

If you think they will work for you, let me know and shoot me an offer. If you are looking for other stuff, let me know. Lots of fuel items etc... left over from my rebuild. Goto the 928 classifieds and find my post of Euro parts for sale. I am trying to clean out the garage now that I have completed the car.

I do think they will work. I just found this site Porsche 911, 914, 924, 928, 944, 968, 996, 997, Boxster, Cayenne and Cayman Fuel Injector Connector, 2 pins. that has the connector itself for sale. just needs soldered on. But if the clip to the main harness is the same then I would rather have yours. I am strolling on over to your post right now to see if there is anything I could use. I am very interested in the fuel injector harnesses but it would be a month or so before I have the free cash to spend on my car. I just got a new job and am catching up on bills. Once caught up its on.

I like this guy on ebay for 2 pin injector connectors, $2.25 each,
Three wiring harnesses on the front of early 928, Chassis for lights, ign coil, etc., Engine front with sensors and alternator, and Engine fuel injection. Most of the damage is usually right on the engine or near connectors. |

I may look at getting some extra ones. But since Doug has a complete harness, as long as they are the same connectors to the main harness, which I think they are, I would rather have a complete harness. I dont know if things like this would affect the value of the car but I would rather not chance it.

I may..... not sure yet. I haven't gotten far enough into her to determine what needs replaced but what do you want for it so that I can be prepared in case I do need it?

I know I have engine + front harnesses, not sure if I kept all the others but think I did. Dunno, couple hundred I guess?? Let's see what you need first. My extra's aren't advertised anywhere.
Mark

Rodge that. I wish I had the money for the motor as I would love to have a spare for future projects. But right now I am strapped for cash. I have to replace the brakes and rear cross member in my daily driver before I can start investing into my Porsche. I'm getting the cross member today though! =)
It will be a bit before I could say what I need for sure. Maybe a month or 2. Really depends on the weather and how well I manage my money and taxes. Got some debt I want to get rid of so that there isn't anything that would make me sell my 928. I am going to check on some wiring tomorrow as I will be out of daylight after I go pick up my cross member. I really want to check the 14 pin connector and positive jumper cables. |

This may be what you are looking for. No affiliation. I know that there are NO new ones anymore. A friend of mine bought the last one from Porsche in 2011.

That is a pretty good deal. I wish I had the cash to pick that up right now.
